Residents of Anjur village inside Mahindra World City, Chengalpattu district, oppose construction of a road on Open Space Reservation (OSR) land meant for a park. The OSR plot measures one acre and 24 cents, located between Mahindra Research Valley and Dhargas. A private construction company purchased 7 acres of adjacent land with its own northern access way but seeks to create another access from the OSR land (identified as G21) via the 100-Feet Road connecting to GST Road. Work has begun with trees cleared and debris dumped on site. Residents sent representations to Chengalpattu Collector and Revenue officials to stop the conversion. Social activist noted similar conversions occurred previously at OSR plots G40 and G20 for private companies. Residents demand Revenue officials halt the road construction.
