Analysts and industry experts projected the Indian real estate industry to reach a staggering US $180 billion by 2020 at a recent seminar held in Bangalore. This event, a three-day seminar focusing on Real Estate Management, commenced on Thursday as a component of the Management Development program for students of the Acharya Bangalore B School. The seminar hosted realtors and analysts, offering students valuable insights into future career prospects and diverse professional opportunities within the real estate sector.

Internet's Role in Real Estate Highlighted

Vineet Singh, Business Head of 99Acres.com, presented a paper on ‘Internet and Real Estate.’ He noted India’s prominent position as the fifth most attractive destination for forthcoming real estate investments, according to reports from real estate intelligence firms, with China leading the list. Singh elaborated on the projection for the Indian real estate industry to achieve US $180 billion by 2020. He emphasized the significance of the platform in bringing together academia and the industry to foster mutual growth and comprehension. "This is a good platform to involve both academia and industry to facilitate dual growth and understanding. We get to know what the emerging new talent holds and they learn about the industry perspective,” said Singh.

Niharika Singh, a participating student, shared her perspective, highlighting the seminar's value. "I’ve always had an interest in this industry as my family deals with real estate. But at this seminar I could ask a few basic questions and get industry relevant answers,” she commented.
